Hips raised, swaying to a rhythm only she hears, she taps a beat on a floor polished by countless women before her. Fingers soundlessly smooth worn castanets. Her breath catches with the first strum of the guitar.
The light shines softly on the player as he fingers the melody. She picks it up with her heel and her quick fingers. The light moves, her head thrown back she is transported, ecstatic for the dance.

A fun, lighthearted read, Val. So fluid and evocative of a happy, upbeat dance. Very nice!
I felt like I was in the swing of the dance with her!
Get those castanets clicking and those hips swinging Christy!
Yes, happy dance! Happy Friday, Val 🙂
Quick, but oh-so-evocative. Lovely!
I am glad you like it. I love dance, all of it but have always loved Spanish
I LIKE this because the foot tapping and rhythm are loud and clear! Can you hear the music? I can.
Thanks Tess, I have always loved Spanish dance, the passion the ecstasy.
Oh, I want to do that! 😉
Me too!
Love these!
They are fun to right. Challenging if nothing else.
Makes me want to grab my own castanets and start dancing. I’m sure my kids would love that. 😉
Nice piece!
I still have a pair of castanets, wonder if I still know how to use them.
F.A.B.B.O. ❤
Thanks, different right.
