Secrets

Kivers

Glad cries and whispered desires

To long you have been missing

Blood rushes where fingers trail

Lifting up to meet and follow

Turning, offering more and all

“Will you give me this,” you ask

“I withhold nothing,”

Opening arms too long empty

Still a heart, I withhold that

“I have secrets,” you say

“Keep them, they are yours”

Touching you as supplicant

Testing for what is mine

What you do not reserve

Silken skin, scented of night

Sinking into desires and dreams

Darkness born for you

Shelter found unlooked for

In a tangle of arms and legs

Through awakenings promised

Yearnings met with abandonment

With no pledge for tomorrow

While hearts and breath slow to one

I have secrets too

Say it Out Loud

630ea2e14ac1d6fbf734cba1432ba23a

Say you love me

You don’t have to mean it

Or love all of me

Or love me all the time

Just say you love me

When you see me turning away

Turning inside toward darkness

Toward my own monsters

Rattling my own locked doors

Where only I have keys

Say you love me

Scream it out loud

Where I can hear you

Inside my own dungeon

Locked in the ice of my heart

Where my soul might be safe

My spirit dances with monsters

Even as they flay me

With memories of pain

My blood and tears paint walls

Brilliant in scarlet and silver

Rescue me, say you love me

Out loud, where my soul hears you

Maybe, if I hear you I will believe

Maybe I will reach for you

If you say you love me

Warriors Rest

2816116

My warrior, my King

Ease your burden

My shoulders are narrow

They are strong enough

My arms offer comfort

Reaching for you in need

My breast the cushion

For your weary head

Stretch still beside me

Let my heat infuse you

Warming your lament

Into a song of joy

Warmth wrapped around

Your ice and need

Warrior though you are

Solitary in your fight

My joyful welcoming

Allows you a brief respite

Until your pain is forgotten

For a moment, a night

Or as long as you need

Audacity

download (2)

No excuse for found courage

I step bold from your shadow

Audacious in my demand for light

Stamping a tattoo on hard ground

With each lift and fall bells jangle

Hips sway and command a rhythm

Meant for me but beat in another time

Chains loosen; fall away to red dirt

Skirts lift and swirl, blown by warmed winds

Swept aside by my own hands

Making room for the roar and passion

Head thrown back, uncaring of the watchers

Breath drawn across desert parched lips

The bells locked on ankles as a claim ring

With each step, each movement they plea

Clarion call of my captive heart

To another unseen, unknown

To quench the fire left burning

Unfurled

img-viloletta-02

Unfurled, my spirit sails on warm currents

Long held in check by fear and convention

Now called forth by whispered promises

Earthbound no more, I dance on moonbeams

Your dark essence penetrates my solitude

Filling me with light and heated supplication

Higher, more and where have you been

The Storm

nrm_1413410111-storm2

Bring on the storm

I am not afraid

Perhaps a little frightened

Still I say, bring on the tempest

Let it rage through me

Cleanse me of my fears

Replace them with nothing

Or with furious desire

Burning through tethers

Binding me to history

Forcing me inside of myself

Away from my desire

Bring on the storm

I am not afraid

I am a little terrified

Unchained from my history

As I scatter in the gale

Of delight and freedom

Lifted up on spread wings

Reaping the wind and ions

Swept away in ecstasy

Bound by something new

Fever Dreams

LindaHead_2

The shutters create shadows across my bed as the sun rises

I keep them open to chase dawn

Dust motes dance before half open eyes

I imagine fairies caught in the final bacchanalia

I stretch my body seeking heat

Pushing back covers damp from ecstatic revelry

I reach for you first, always you first

Upon awakening finding the side empty

Your firm body missing from its place

Last night it was filled with you and me

I drifted in my sleep back to my edge

Crumpled sheets are evidence of our passion

I await your return with breath held

Anticipation fueling reveries, dreamed

My body tightens with morning imaginings

Pushing me to rise

Not from the bed but from my fevered thoughts

Anticipation makes me breathless

I flush remembering the night

Ceiling fans move air across exposed skin

I rise, pad barefoot and naked across cool tiles

The chill seeps up cooling my passion

Confronting the mirror offers evidence

Your visit was more than a fever dream

Imagined in my lonely nighttime wandering
